The MaliCamino, the car…a creation, a transformation. Of ingenuity, boredom and easy access to a sawzall. Ask Dave.

Jay Aptt discovered his love for cars, guitars, the MaliCamino, blues, rock and soul at 16.

Since days and years ago, hauling equipment in the MaliCamino, he's shared the stage with greats, James Montgomery, Johnny A of Peter Wolf/Yardbirds, Joe Nadeau of Kenny Wayne Shepherd band, Mike O’Connell, Lois Lane, Barrence Whitfield, Erinn Brown, Lisa Marie, Borderland Allstars and more.

The Malicamino...a creation of brother Dave's ass haulin', tire smokin' '78 Malibu and a Diablo Red El Camino. Bastardized and hand cut smoldering to create the unmistakable, head turning Malicamino.

Riding shotgun is his long time partner in crime Ben [OB1] Ferrini on bass - who sometimes rode in the back holding down the equipment on the road.

Some say the car is at the bottom of Gloucester harbor, others say it’s still out there…running rum from Barbados to Boston, smuggling camels in Kazakhstan, used as a stunt car in the last Mad Max movie…it’s out there somewhere…doing god-knows-what. Last known sighting, she was heading north on Bourbon Street.
